Mortars & Coatings
Sika Construction's range of concrete repair mortar is easy and fast to apply to virtually any concrete surface. Once applied, future deterioration can be prevented with the use of an all-over protection system, and will keep the exterior strong for years to come. These systems can consist of a water-repellent impregnation, an invisible coating or a coloured coating, to suit the exact needs of the premises. Elastic systems can be used if necessary, which permanently seal movement cracks to guarantee durable protection of the structures. Sika's anti-carbonation coatings have been on the market for over 20 years and provide unbeatable durability and longevity of protection in all environments.
Many Sika systems are CE Marked accredited for use under BS EN1504 standards.
Once the concrete has been repaired, it is vital that further damage is prevented. Sika has a number of ways of controlling the onset of further concrete deterioration.
Migrating Corrosion Inhibitor
Corrosion Inhibitors can be used to treat concrete and protect rebars located in high risk carbonated or chloride contaminated zones. Sika FerroGard 903 reduces the need to break out concrete and controls incipient corrosion.
As a surface applied system, Sika FerroGard 903, penetrates the concrete to provide a protective layer around steel reinforcement.
Galvanic Anodes
Embedded galvanic anodes provide localised corrosion protection precisely where it's needed. Effectively extending the service life of concrete patch repairs, they offer long-lasting protection from between ten to 20 years.
Galvashield is quick and easily fastened to exposed reinforcing steel, once attached the Sika Galvashield XP's sactificial zinc core is activated by the surrounding specially formulated mortar and it corrodes preferentially to the adjacent rebar.
The small puck-shaped provides galvanic corrosion prevention for a wide range of applications, including patch repairs, bridge widening, joints between new and existing concrete, slab replacement, expansion joint repair and more.
